The Whiskey Rebellion 1791-1794
When Hamilton instituted a hated
excise tax on whiskey to raise revenue for the new national
government, his act also tested the new constitution and Bill of
Rights, and established precedents for the Office of President.
The epicenter of this test was the Chartiers valley and a member
of Old St. Lukes - General John Neville.

1794 Whiskey Rebellion. Alexander Hamilton's ill-devised tax
caused a split in the membership of Old St. Lukes by dividing the
